VP JD Vance jokingly calls Diddy a ‘great Christian theologian’

While discussing his new book, Vice President J.D. Vance jokingly references it Diddy as a ‘great Christian theologian’. Let’s explain.

On Thursday (June 25), Vice President JD Vance visited the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum to discuss his latest book, Communitywhere he describes his journey into faith and politics. During the discussion, the veep was asked about a chapter in his book titled “More Money, More Problems.”

The title is a clear reference to Notorious BIG’s 1997 song “Mo Money Mo Problems.” Life after death album. JD Vance decided to poke fun at Diddy’s fall from grace, joking that the former rap mogul was a great spiritual thinker.

“Well, again, I’m a millennial and so I believe that’s the wisdom of the great Christian theologian P. Diddy,” he joked. “Who, as we have discovered in recent years, is absolutely not a Christian or a theologian.”

The audience chuckled a bit and JD Vance seemed a little unsure if his joke would convince them.

Nevertheless, J.D. Vance went on to explain that the title of his chapter was inspired by his early years, when he valued money and prestige over a spiritual life. However, he soon discovered that as his fame and bank account grew, so did the complexity of his life. It wasn’t until he leaned on his faith and family that the vice president truly found clarity and purpose in his life.

Diddy may not find the humor in JD Vance’s jokes while he’s currently serving a federal prison term of 50 months after being found guilty last July of two counts of transportation to prostitution. In March, 40 days were removed from the sentence, pushing his release date to April 25, 2028.
