Fans think GloRilla beats Megan Thee Stallion in new song

Hip-Hop is currently dissecting every line of a brand new track and the internet is convinced that a great friendship has officially gone up in flames. Not long ago, GloRilla and Megan Thee stallion stood tall as one of hip-hop’s most beloved female duos. The two hitmakers initially dominated the summer of 2024 by hitting the road together on the iconic Hot Girl Summer Tour. But a recently released collaboration has fans questioning whether the behind-the-scenes tension has quietly destroyed the bond.

Earlier today, the Memphis-born rapstress teamed up with Pooh Shiesty to drop their new song, “MANE.” While the single is already gaining traction, some of GloRilla’s lyrics are making waves. Listeners immediately focused on a series of very aggressive, direct bars delivered by GloRilla, heavily suggestive of an anonymous, slanderous industry peer.

According to HotNewHipHopMeg’s real name is never explicitly mentioned in the song, but the very specific nature of the lyrics has caused speculation to spread like wildfire on social media platforms. On the pitch, the collective bars paint a vivid picture of a crumbling relationship built on false support.

“B***h coming for me, who gassed her? / I put the ab***h right on my plate / Ho tried to lil’ sis me, I passed her / Thought I was, mane ho, think faster / Victim-playin’-a**-ho, stop cappin’ / Ho went straight to haters from clapping,” GloRilla stated on the song.

The explicit mention of a peer “playing the victim” and going straight to a “hater” after initially “applauding” her success is what initially set off alarm bells for fans. In the cruel world of rap commentary, many believe the lines perfectly echo the messy, public social media unfollow spat that took place between the two women last year.

GloRilla adds fuel to the fire of past drama

Questions surrounding their friendship initially surfaced back in May 2025 following a controversial Instagram story. Fans of both artists were completely taken aback when GloRilla uploaded a peaceful graphic quote with the soundtrack from a Tory Lanez record. Given Lanez’s highly publicized, deeply toxic criminal history since he shot Meganthe choice of sound generated an immediate wave of backlash from the Hotties.

The fallout was immediate. Sharp-eyed netizens pointed out that Megan immediately hit the Unfollow button, indicating that she was offended by the post. Within hours, the Memphis star returned the favor by unfollowing Megan, sending the internet into a complete meltdown over the hip-hop sisterhood’s sudden collapse.

To put out the digital fire, Glo quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) late last night to clear her name, insisting the audio inclusion was a completely accidental oversight. “Ion (does) internet s**t and I don’t mess up! It was an innocent repost yall bsn,” she tweeted.

While the public statement seemingly smoothed things over enough for both ladies to quietly follow each other back, the underlying tension never really seemed to go away. Now that the aggressive bars on “MANE” have landed, fans are convinced that the public apology was only a temporary band-aid. Nevertheless, it’s unclear whether the bars are a direct shot at Megan or just high-energy entertainment meant to keep listeners guessing.
