Sources shared with Us Weekly that Swift and Kelce had to drop plans to get married in Rhode Island due to security concerns.

According to the news outlet, the duo had fallen in love with the environment and wanted a seaside wedding. However, due to the scale of the ceremony they had in mind and the media attention, they had to pivot to MSG.

“Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with these kinds of events,” says an insider.

The source further noted that while Swift originally planned the event in Rhode Island, where she owns a mansion in Westerly’s Watch Hill neighborhood, she ultimately booked several alternate venues across the country for various dates.

“Ocean House (in Westerly) was planned at one point, and then the plans changed to New York,” the insider said.

The source spoke more about the couple’s wedding, sharing that the nature of Rhode Island posed a safety risk for Swift and Kelce.

“Rhode Island wasn’t great because the nature of the access and the perimeters were too difficult to secure,” the insider said. “So the main issue with Rhode Island ended up being safety.”

They continued, “Everything was being planned in Rhode Island and so many people wanted to come that the plans had to be changed because it got bigger.”

With Rhode Island out of the picture, Swift and Kelce will reportedly get married at MSG, which the singer is said to have booked for July 2nd through July 4th, with her wedding date planned for July 3rd.

Kittle also advised the budgies to “have so much fun with all your friends” on their wedding day.
