Most weekends are built for recovery. This particular weekend was a calculated experiment in basic human endurance, sheer horsepower and heavy culinary choices. We set out with a singular, beautiful goal. We wanted to see exactly how much adrenaline and red meat could fit into a 48-hour window.

The route was a relentless sprint across three states here on the West Coast. I skipped the traditional warm-up and headed straight to Lake Havasu, cranking the throttles forward and letting excessive engine volume clear our minds. From there, the itinerary only got more aggressive…. and the food (especially the smashburgers) even more delicious.

Solo stove recently sent over a massive haul of their latest gear. Naturally, we treated this delivery as a challenge. I dragged their pristine state-of-the-art equipment right into the brutal heat of the Mojave Desert to see if we could push it past the breaking point.

Beach bonfires are traditionally an exercise in shifting winds and inhaling heavy smoke. This redesigned masterpiece completely changes the calculation. The distinctive airflow technology delivers a fascinating, ultra-hot combustion while keeping the air clean. It turns the shoreline into a cozy sanctuary that keeps the whole crew warm when the heavy California marine layer rolls out onto the sand.

This heavy-duty, chef-grade 3-ply surface brings restaurant-level performance directly into the wild. We used it to sear an offensive amount of edge-to-edge crust smash burgers in the yard. We used it to sling heavy sunrise lunch cheesesteaks before conquering the trails of the red canyons of Utah. Mom even stepped in as guest chef for a lakeside Korean bulgogi steak stir-fry, giving it her ultimate seal of approval.

Ice retention is a matter of pure survival when entering the wilderness. This beast has built-in air conditioning and an integrated mister to cool you down instantly after a grueling ride. The interior insulation easily defeated the intense desert heat and kept our beverages freezing cold from the canyons of the Colorado River all the way back to the Pacific Ocean.
