The first Father’s Day was celebrated on Sunday Charlie Kirk was shot and killed last September.
And his widow Erica Kirk paid an emotional tribute to the late father of two on the occasion.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Erica reflected on the pain of celebrating the holidays without Charlie while also honoring the legacy he left for her two young children.


“Happy Father’s Day to the best dad ever,” she wrote alongside family photos and videos, including Charlie with his daughter and son.
She further added that she “still wrote your letter to you”, suggesting that this was an annual Father’s Day tradition in the Kirk family.
Erica wrote, “They miss you. I miss you. I can’t help but thank you infinitely today. Thank you for loving us so well. Thank you for making me a wife and mother.”
“Thank you for our two precious children who carry pieces of you with them. Thank you for all the time you spent praying for our family.
“Thank you for living your life this way to be an incredible example to other fathers. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made. You will always be an extraordinary father. Forever.”

“You always said more fog, more sparklers, more bass and then walking off the stage with babies in our arms. Our love was unified, and it will stay that way.”
The post quickly received support from followers, many of whom offered prayers and words of encouragement as the family continues to live through an unimaginable loss.

Since then, Erica has frequently used social media to share memories of her husband while documenting her family’s grieving process.
She has also spoken publicly about the difficulty of moving on without the man she once called “the love of my life.”
