Donald Trump assured Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson he would avoid war in Iran – report

Despite his apparently aggressive stance towards Iran, Donald Trump apparently convinced Tucker Carlson And Elon Musk that he will not wage war against the Middle East. A recent report claims that the president gave his word to the duo about exercising restraint against his urge to attack Iran, before ultimately going back on that word.

New book reportedly claims Donald Trump’s certainty over Tucker Carlson

According to a forthcoming book written by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, the POTUS once assured both the famed political commentator and Tesla CEO that he would not declare war on Iran during an Oval Office meeting with the two.

The book noted that although Tucker Carlson had been critical of Donald Trump, the latter had “sought Carlson’s advice, believing he still had power over a significant portion of the base,” according to The Guardian.

“Carlson had criticized Trump for refusing to defeat Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) over the Gaza massacre; now he would make it clear to the president that a broader war would be his downfall,” Haberman and Swan said in their report. “They want you to go to war with Iran,” Carlson said. “We don’t do that,” Trump replied.”

Additionally, Trump reportedly told Carlson, “I don’t think there’s ever been an American president as powerful as me.” This prompted the far-right pundit to respond: “Certainly not since FDR. The only thing that could destroy the country is a war with Iran.”

Additionally, Haberman and Swan’s book mentions how Donald Trump “regaled” Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk with extensive details of the injuries caused by the 2024 pager blast attack orchestrated by Israel. A gold pager donated by Benjamin Netanyahu Trump reportedly ‘riveted’ the tech mogul.

Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s work, titled Regime Change, will be published in the US on Tuesday. In addition to covering the dynamics surrounding Donald Trump before he declared war on Iran, the duo’s comprehensive report also includes detailed segments on Situation Room meetings on the Jeffrey Epstein controversy, as well as the Republican leader’s alleged attempts to suspend legal rights during the height of his immigration policies.
