However, Queen Elizabeth reportedly denied such a provision at the time, refusing to treat the monarchy as a “part-time job.”
Sources now say the situation appears to be in the Sussexes’ favor, and they may have a lot of what they were looking for. Harry and Markle can now receive royal protection, status, access and family support while continuing to live their independent lives in California. “This is essentially the arrangement that Harry and Meghan proposed years ago,” a palace source told the court Naughty but nice. “The difference is that Queen Elizabeth said no.”
King Charles reportedly appears to have quietly cleared the way for his youngest son to make his family’s visits to Britain possible.
