Millie Bobby Brown shut down criticism directed at her husband, Jake Bongiovi, after social media users questioned his parenting and support. During a recent appearance on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, the actress addressed comments from people who accused Bongiovi of not helping enough when the couple made public appearances with their daughter.

Brown pushed back against the online narrative that painted Bongiovi as a disengaged partner. The actress explained that critics often pointed to photos showing her carrying luggage, bags or their baby, while her husband looked empty-handed.
“When did women become unable to hold their own bags, car seats and things?” Brown said. She explained that many people did not understand the reality of the situation, noting that she was often several steps ahead because she had already planned everything in advance.
The “Stranger Things” star also made it clear that outsiders didn’t really know her husband. Brown described Bongiovi as “the most polite, sweet, will-do-anything-for-me” type of person. At the same time, she said he respected her independence and recognized that she was capable of handling things on her own.
Brown and Bongiovi married in May 2024 after going public with their relationship in 2022. Since then, the couple have largely kept their personal lives private, including details about their daughter, who they adopted in August 2025.
During the podcast, Brown also opened up about her longtime desire to adopt a child. She revealed that she had always wanted to be an adoptive parent and described adoption as “love” and “forever”.
The actress shared that she studied social work for two years before changing career paths, and said those courses helped shape her views on adoption. Brown and Bongiovi spent a lot of time discussing what their family trip would look like before moving forward.
While online criticism continues to follow celebrity parents, Brown made it clear she wasn’t going to let assumptions about her husband go unchallenged.
