The world is getting a little tired of dangling on the edge of relief. The Iran war has been going on for months now, with no clear end in sight.

The Strait of Hormuz is blocked, the future of oil and gasoline is in flux, and everyone is just hoping for an end to the bloodshed. Except apparently those in charge in Washington DC

Because every time it seems like the interested parties have moved toward a solution, something goes sideways. President Donald Trump has said several times that the war in Iran is over, or about to be over, before things inevitably go bad again. How many times has he said the war in Iran was over?

There is nothing like the gnawing fear and humanitarian crisis of continued military action with no clear end in sight. People are exhausted and worried, and their lives are caught in the middle of a political pawn game between the United States, Israel and Iran.

So, when will it all end?

Unfortunately, no one seems to know.

And Trump himself has muddied the waters by declaring an imminent end to hostilities. How many times has he said it?

According to CNNhe has suggested that the war was over almost forty times. Sometimes he says that a resolution is near, sometimes he says that hostilities are over, and sometimes he just says that they will end things one way or another. Yet the war drags on.

It is unclear whether Trump realizes that the countries are so far away from a solution, and how involved he is in the negotiations. CNN points out that every time the weekend approaches, Trump seems to signal the end of hostilities ahead. Then something happens this weekend and a day or two later he announces a new solution, just before the stock market opens again.

Some have suggested that this could be market manipulation. Others believe that Trump is simply incapable of understanding what is happening, while some critics believe he has entered a severe state of dementia.

Mid-June saw a deal inch closer, but things continue to go south.

Speculation about Trump’s possible diagnosis of dementia remains just that; speculation. However, it is difficult to ignore the bizarre pattern of repeatedly suggesting that a solution will only come if one or both countries deny it, and hostilities will continue.

But in mid-June 2026, there was a glimmer of hope. On June 12, 2026 AP News reported: “Pakistan’s prime minister said Friday that the United States and Iran have agreed to formulate an agreement aimed at ending their war in the Middle East and that mediators are working with both sides to finalize a deal.”

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been instrumental in bringing all parties to the negotiating table, and this is the most hopeful tone he has struck since the United States first attacked Iran.
