Carl Gustaf and Silvia of Sweden, 50 years of marriage

Stockholm celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of marriage of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, married on 19 June 1976. The celebration was brought forward by a few days to avoid coinciding with the midsummer celebration. The Royal Family present, great absence announced, Estellethe future queen. A party in the capital

For the golden wedding of the sovereigns, the Swedish Royal House organized a day of celebration with many events. The In Deum in the Royal Chapel, a cruise aboard the royal launch Vasaorden to reach the island of Djurgården and from here a carriage ride in the center of the capital. Then, in the gardens of the Royal Palace, the whole family gathered for a great concert open to the public. A musical journey in the 50 years of Carl Gustaf and Silvia’s love and life in Sweden. After all, we are very happy with our tribute to Silvia, the Dancing queen sung by ABBA for his wedding. She was the first bourgeois of the twentieth century to become queen, directly through marriage. The king recognized her work by awarding her the Seraph Medal, Sweden’s most prestigious award and also the oldest medal of merit still awarded in the world.

Estelle the absent, Ines the most observed

Along with the day of official celebrations, it was also a big family celebration, less solemn than the one organized in April for the king’s 80th birthday. The three sons of the sovereigns, Victory, Charles Philip And Madeleine not long after an event, accompanied by spouses and children. And the little ones attracted all the attention. The eldest, Estelle, Victoria and Daniel’s eldest daughter and future queen, is due to her absence: she is on a study trip abroad for the whole of June. A bit of a shame that she wasn’t present in the historic family photo. We see the concert at the public holiday gala, at the Opera House. Queen Silvia in a long pink dress embellished with a short sequined jacket in shades of green and pink. Madeleine is very experienced in all her madness, with a now vintage dress, used in 2003 on the occasion of her official visit to Haarald and Sonja in Norway.
