JT Poston had a miserable end to his final round at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut. One hole cost him more than $10,000.

An eagle shot turned into a sevenfold bogey after an unfortunate turn of events. It resulted in a huge drop in the rankings, which will prove costly.

Poston started the day at -5 for the weekend. That put him in a shared 50th place on Sunday. He then increased the rankings with a strong nine at the front. Then disaster struck.

The golfer was having a great day prior to the accident. He had played ten holes bogey-free with three birdies. A bogey on 11 set him back briefly, but he responded with another birdie on 12 to return to -3 on the day.

His day went south at number 13.

Poston drilled the fairway with his 293-yard tee shot. He then hit a bunker on his next play. While the landing spot wasn’t ideal, it was within 81 yards of the pin for shot No. 3.

That recovery occurred near the green. Shortly afterwards, things collapsed.

His fourth shot found a water hazard, as did his next two. With his tenth stroke he finally reached the green. He missed a putt on No. 11 before tapping in and recording a seven-fold bogey.

You can watch it play below. Absolutely brutal.

The hole proved costly.

As mentioned earlier, JT Poston entered the day in a shared 50th place. He was eight under the weekend before the tumultuous 13th hole. He would have been somewhere around 45th in the rankings, a spot that comes with a payout of $64,000.

Taking into account the ties and moves on the leaderboard, that will likely leave you with a profit of between $45,000 and $55,000 when all is said and done.

Instead, he moved to 69th as one of only four players to make the weekend and finish below par. As a result, he takes home $38,000.

Poston finished +9 on his last six holes. He was -8 against the other 66. It was a miserable end to an otherwise successful tournament.
