A new hope for Mette-Marit of NorwayThank you very much for your help at Rikshospitalet in Oslo. The Royal Household announced the success of the operation and specified that the principal will remain in hospital for several weeks. Meanwhile, Parliament is discussing a constitutional reform to allow the regency of Ingrid Alexandra.
Everything went well
The first alarm bell yesterday, when the Haakon principle he canceled all his commitments. We were thinking about some of Mette Marit’s health problems, linked to the recent ruling who sentences his son Marius Borg to four years in prison. But no, nothing further away. I was very happy with the neighbor’s life all along the way, and it was the same after the lung traps at the Rikshospitalet in Oslo. Mette Marit had been suffering from chronic pulmonary fibrosis, which gradually impedes breathing registered on the waiting lists for the sake of a couple of weeks ago, after a dramatic worsening of his condition. Please note that the operation data is not disclosed without ensuring the privacy and all family members. In a press release from the Royal Household, the head of the hospital’s thoracic surgery department, Art Fiane, states that “the lung transplant has so far been successful”.

Several weeks in hospital
The Palace also entrusts Fiane with the explanation of future developments: «Like all other transplant patients, the Crown Princess will remain hospitalized at the Rikshospitalet for several weeks. Follow the standard procedure for drug therapy, follow any complications and continue with rehabilitation. The Haakon principle will design the agenda for the next few days so that we can stay with the possible as much as possible. And the Norwegian Parliament, perhaps driven by these dramatic moments, is accelerating the reform of Article 41 of the Constitution. A paragraph will be added which establishes that the son of the heir to the throne, in this case Ingrid Alexandra, will also be able to exercise the functions of Head of State in the event that the king and his heir are unable to do so. The princess, therefore, could soon exercise the regency, lending a hand to her grandfather and father.
