Ghosts season 6 will feature a lot more of Kyle as his fan-favorite portrayer, Ben Feldman, has been promoted to series regular. Kyle was first introduced in Ghosts season 4 as another character who has the ability to see ghosts, much like the series’ protagonist, Sam Arondekar (Rose McIver). After being hit by a bird at the top of a slide, Kyle discovered that he could see spirits. He has since helped Sam and her husband, Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), deal with the sometimes overwhelming demands of the ghosts that haunt the Woodstone Mansion.
During Ghosts season 5 finaleSam sold his first script, Polar Oppositesand was hired to write a trilogy. When informed that she would have to travel out of town for the shoot, ghost Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) suggested that Kyle take over for Sam as “ghost sitter.” The other ghosts loved the idea because Kyle is usually very welcoming to them and they started chanting his name. Kyle agreed to the plan, and it opened the door to a bigger role for Feldman, who will now become a series regular.
Ghosts Showrunners Praise Ben Feldman as Kyle
In a statement to Deadline, Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman praised Feldman’s acting abilities after he was upgraded to series regular. They said, “We are so excited to have Ben on Ghosts this season. He is a truly gifted actor who is equally adept at comedy and emotion, and he is an incredible addition to an already stacked cast.”
Additionally, in an Instagram post, Ghosts welcomed Feldman as a Season 6 series regular and still shared photos of him as Kyle on the show. The title of the post read, “Kyle checks in for an extended stay at Woodstone – we’re excited to welcome @benmfeldman as a series regular to season 6 of #GhostsCBS! #announcement #benfeldman.”
What to expect from Kyle in Ghosts Season 6
Ghosts season 5 ended with a cliffhanger where Kyle witnessed the disappearance of ghost Pete (Richie Moriarty) on his way home from a trip with Jay. The trio had traveled to England to find a painting of Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) that proved she was a princess, which would help the Woodstone Mansion be designated a historic landmark to prevent it from being torn down by the Evercreek Water Company. Their mission was successful, but Pete disappeared because his ghost power of being able to travel away from Woodstone has a limit if he is gone too long.
Because Kyle was there when Pete disappeared, it will be interesting to see what role he plays in trying to find out what happened to him and whether it is possible to get him back. Plus, Kyle will stand in for Sam when she’s gone, which is sure to make for a lot of hilarious high jinks as the ghosts will inevitably try to take full advantage of his kindness.
Feldman is a talented actor known for his roles in Superstore and Mad Men. He’s been a great addition to Ghosts cast, and it’s exciting that he’ll be a series regular in Season 6, which premieres mid-season in 2027, with Halloween and Christmas specials planned for 2026. Both Feldman and Kyle are loved by Ghosts fans and it will be so much fun to see what happens with the character next.
