This clip has been shared by an American social media user on Instagram. Ryan McGearyhas received over 360,000 views and over 20,000 likes, with the caption: “Giving the Tartan Army their first experience with self-driving vehicles, they loved it! Had so much fun!”
The video begins with Ryan, who has attracted attention online after following the Tartan Army’s antics in both group stages boston And Miami, tells the audience: “This is Scotts’ self-driving taxi, Waymo. A self-driving vehicle, here we go.”
As the driverless car drives past, the group immediately falls into disbelief and begins laughing out loud. One fan calls the situation “mental”, while another jokes: “I’m not on the bullshit front, that’s for sure.”
Once inside the vehicle, confusion immediately turns to amusement, with one Scot laughing before shouting: “What the fuck is going on here.”
The group can be seen laughing throughout the journey as they play music through the car’s speakers, including Baccara’s iconic track Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which quickly turns the taxi into a full singalong.
When asked what he took away from the experience, one Scot said: “Is this the future?” While another asks the so-called ‘driver’: “What time will you finish tonight?” A question often asked by Scots when boarding a taxi at 2 o’clock.
At the end of the ride, the group was asked about their decision, with one replying: “It was too much fun,” before they began chanting “No Waymo, no party.”
The fun didn’t stop there though, as fans later jumped into a second self-driving taxi for another trip to South Beach. In the clip, the group can be seen running towards the vehicle, with one man shouting to the non-existent driver: “Stop man fucker”.

While another Scot shouts: “I’ll sit behind the driver this time”, before getting into the back seat.
Inside the car, the sing-along continues with ‘I’m on My Way’ by The Proclaimers and the group once again chanting their famous line: “No Waymo, no party.”
The clip has gone viral and social media users can’t stop gushing over the hilarious interaction, with hundreds of viewers praising the Tartan Army’s ability to turn even a driverless taxi ride into a party.
One person wrote: “You can always count on the Scottish people to have a laugh,” while one from America, who clearly loved both the Scots and the video, said: “Take me back with you!! Scotland obliged!!”
A third user praised the Scots’ bravery for testing a driverless car, as he admitted: “Brave boys! Haven’t had enough wine for me to try.”
One American even suggested that Waymo should use the footage as part of an advertising campaign, writing: “If this company doesn’t use this as an ad and give Scott some credit they are missing a huge opportunity. That’s great.”
