Big Tigger arrested on charges of battery and cruelty to children

Big Tigger was arrested Saturday, June 20, amid domestic violence allegations involving his wife, with authorities reportedly citing Ring’s CCTV footage showing him pushing her.

The radio personality was arrested on Saturday for assault and third-degree cruelty to children, according to reports from TMZ. The outlet states that police data shows the former Rap city The host was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Saturday morning but was released later in the day.

Big Tigger, whose legal name is Darian Morgan, was released from jail after posting bonds totaling $10,000. His arrest comes after reports that Morgan’s wife, Alicia Brown, was involved in an alleged incident in May that prompted authorities to open a domestic dispute investigation.

Brown sought medical treatment for her injuries before contacting police, according to dispatch records. She was later transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

At the time, it was not clear whether her injuries came from Morgan, but arrest warrants had been obtained 11 Alive to provide more insight into the incident this week.

Officers reportedly met Brown at the Sandy Springs Police Department on the morning of June 9. At the time, she provided a written statement about an incident that occurred on the night of May 9, saying she and the radio host got into an argument in their bedroom over text messages between Big Tigger and a woman he worked with.

At that time, Brown told officers the text exchange occurred at least two weeks prior to the argument, and during the argument, Morgan called his wife “psycho.” 11 Alive reports. When she asked her husband about the texts, he told her the messages were old and that he had deleted others.

According to the warrant, Brown said Morgan then knocked her to the ground and took his phone from her, leaving a small bruise on her hip.

Brown then got up, went to a home office they share, and told Big Tigger, “I’ll show you a psychopath.”

She further told police that she had unplugged a computer because she was helping to purchase the equipment for the two of them, but as she did so, she claims Big Tigger approached her from behind, grabbed her arms and demanded she stop. Brown responded by telling him at least three times, “Leave me alone and get your hands off me.”

The altercation was captured on a Ring camera in the office, according to authorities, who say the radio host “pushed” Brown, causing her to hit her head on a door and causing a deep laceration in her left eye.

Big Tigger took his wife to a DeKalb County emergency room to be treated for the head wound that night, and due to the severity of her injuries, medical personnel contacted police in Dunwoody. When asked what caused the crack, Brown said nothing.

Later, at police headquarters, authorities asked Brown why she was uncooperative on the night of May 9, and she stated that she was “scared” of what her husband might have done to her. And because he is a famous person, she thought no one would believe her.

Big Tigger shares cryptic post on social media

Before news of Tigger’s arrest was made public, the presenter shared a cryptic meme on social media that read:

“Life is a cruel teacher… it likes to give you the test first and the lesson later…”

Big Tigger denied the allegations, the radio host’s wife said she had never accused him of domestic violence

I intend to continue to live and lead in a way worthy of that trust.”

Tigger’s wife also released a statement claiming that she never outright accused Tigger of domestic violence.

On the same day as her husband, Alicia’s statement has released a new statement via media personality Loren LoRosa, who denied accusing Morgan of abuse.

“I want to be clear: I have never called my husband an abuser,” she said. “Social media has drawn its own conclusions from information that has been shared, but those conclusions are not statements I made.”

Brown went on to address public criticism of the situation, emphasizing that “the facts will speak for themselves in due time.”
