This is why the cast of Love Island has developed a secret language to describe what happens when the lights are turned off.

During season 7 of Love Island USA, Cierra Ortega used the term ‘journey’ to describe the ‘act’, while Love Island UK star Indiyah used beauty salon conditions such as manicures and French tips as euphemisms for sexual activity during her season of the show.
So it looks like “fries” is now the official code word for season 8 of Love Island USA. But what exactly does it mean?

The meaning of ‘fries’ on ‘Love Island USA’ has divided fans.
In the June 21 episode of Love Island USATrinity Tatum asked her fellow female contestants who had enjoyed “fries” the night before Kenzie Annis to admit that she was the guilty party and that she was cheered on by her girls.
“I was definitely getting some fries. I felt good,” she said in a confessional. “Honestly, we were probably doing a little bit too much, but I feel a strong connection with Corbin. And we probably got a little carried away.”
It didn’t take long for the fries to go viral on social media, with many viewers taking to X and Reddit to express their amusement and confusion.
“Americans, what the hell are fries,” one person tweeted, before another added: “Am I the only one who doesn’t know what fries mean?”

A third agreed, “No fr, what does fries mean… is she talking about the sound of frying… I really don’t know what that is.”

According to a viewer French fries = snacks, so if you put two and two together it implies a hand action in the bedroom. Others went a little more NSFW, explaining that French fries start with two F’s, just like Finger F—-ing.
“Finger Fk, French Fries, FF. Apparently they use code words on the show. I’m not going to pretend I knew that like some other people. I googled that. Also when you see Kenzie and Corbin in bed, you see him going to town with his right arm.”
So there you have it. Mystery solved.
The Islanders have a different approach to couples going to The Hideaway.

Discretion is really fickle Love Island USA because when Kayda and Zach was chosen to go to The Hideaway, the cast was very vocal about what exactly would happen behind closed doors.
“Slap cheeks at The Hideaway,” they sang to the happy couple. During season 7, the song’s lyrics were “Eat that kitty in The Hideaway.”
