Pooh Shiesty to go on trial in 2027 trial in Gucci Mane kidnapping case! –

Pooh Shiesty’s federal trial has been postponed until 2027, leaving the rapper behind bars for months longer before a jury hears the case.

A federal judge in Dallas moved the trial date from July 6, 2026 to February 22, 2027 after classifying the case as “complex.” The change came after Pooh Shiesty’s defense team asked for more time to prepare, a request that was not objected to.

Senior U.S. District Judge David C. Godbey signed the amended pretrial order, setting the final pretrial conference for February 17, 2027. Jury selection will begin the following week.

Pooh Shiesty, who pleaded not guilty, is currently being held in the Kaufman County Jail, and the delay means he is expected to remain in custody for about 11 months before trial.

His co-defendants have had different outcomes over the course of the case. Big30, who faces the same kidnapping and robbery charges, was granted a $100,000 bond by Texas Judge Ed Kinkeade on June 4 and will remain under house arrest under electronic monitoring pending trial.

Pooh Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., also secured bail around the same time, reportedly set at $250,000.

All nine suspects are charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping in connection with a Jan. 10 incident at a Dallas recording studio, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Prosecutors allege Pooh Shiesty lured Gucci Mane to the studio for what was presented as contract negotiations, then pulled out an “AK-style pistol” and forced him at gunpoint to sign a release from his 1017 Records deal.

Authorities also allege that watches, jewelry and cash were taken from Gucci and two other people. One person is said to have almost choked unconscious. Big30 is accused of blocking the studio door to prevent anyone from leaving, while Williams Sr. is accused of helping plan and carry out the alleged incident.

If convicted on all counts, each of the nine defendants could face life in prison.
