Days of our Lives Coming and Goings: Sure EXIT Confirmed by Elia Cantu – 5 Huge Departures!

Days of our lives Coming and Goings updates include Elia Cantu confirming she finished her run as Sure Hunter and some other big ins and outs, including five more exits and a few new faces popping up. We will go into the latest ins and outs and the revolving door of cast at days.

Days of Our Lives: Elia Cantu cloaks herself as Jada Hunter

So we have more big casting news for you in this update. But let’s start with Jada Hunter leaving Salem. So this week actress Elia Cantu herself announced on her social media that she is saying goodbye to Days of our lives. So, if you don’t remember, the actress debuted as Jada on the soap on July 19, 2022. And at that time, she showed up in town to apply for a detective position with the Salem PD. And if you don’t remember, Elia Cantu’s character is a legacy. Her father is Dr. Marcus Hunter (Richard Biggs), who was last seen I think back in 1992.

And we got the first hint that Jada might be leaving when Elia Cantu was dropped days credit back in March. So at that point it seemed like it was okay that she has been dropped from the contract and she will be returning. You know that was the assumption when that happens is that we would keep seeing her as Jada Hunter. And between 2022 and now almost four years later, we’ve seen her get a lot closer Shawn Brady (Brandon Beamer). And of course, Jada was promoted to the position of Police Commissioner. But we don’t know her final exit date yet.

Elia Cantu expresses his gratitude to DOOL

Now, in her announcement confirming her exit, Elia said it was an honor to have portrayed Jada Louise Hunter. And she thanked the cast, crew and fans. And she says she’s excited for her next adventure, whatever it may be. So far, though, I haven’t seen any new projects on her IMDb page. And if you remember, her co-star and scene partner Brandon Beemerwho plays Shawn Brady was actually fired before they brought him back. It was back in 2023 when they also questioned Ari Zucker, Camila Banus, Martha Madison, Nadia Bjorlin and others as part of what was known as the Albert Allar massacre.

But right now, Jada is at the helm of things, front and center. She might have to arrest her best friend Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) to shoot at Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins). Plus, Jada and Shawn are heating up this week. They will soon enter into a real romance and will probably hit it off again soon. And luckily, thanks to the 9-to-10-month air delay advance tape for Days of our lives, we’re going to see more of Jada with Shawn before Elia Cantu ends her run, which should be in early 2027.

Days of Our Lives: More exits coming soon

So maybe Jada and Shawn leave town together because Days seems to be pairing people up right now. Because don’t forget, when the cast returned from their vacation in January, Carson Boatman, Raven Bowens, Leo Howard, and Ashley Puzemis all got pink petticoats in their Christmas stockings instead of a bonus. Then we will say goodbye Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) in just a few months.

Now, at the moment, Johnny and Chanel must through her high-risk pregnancy with the breast cancer complication. And there is corporate drama involved DiMera Enterprises, including EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) does several bad things that Johnny has to answer for as CEO on the side Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) who helps him. So Chanel and Johnny can take their kids and leave Salem to get away from EJ. Unless, of course, Johnny loses Chanel to his cancer. And then he picks up and takes his kids to live near his mother, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), in Italy so he can get help raising Trey and Quattro and get away from EJ.

Tate Black Exits Days

We also see the last of it Tate Donovan Black (Leo Howard) and Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) because right now Sophia’s mother, Amy Choi (Shi Ne Nielson), wants to sue Holly in civil court for Sophia’s apparent suicide. Her body has not been found, and that matters Christian DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) continues to get away with murder framed as a suicide. But you never know, Sophia might be alive and plotting somewhere.

She could come back and do something about Tate and Holly. Or Tate and Holly could go to Paris to escape the Salem drama and Amy Choi and she could pick up and go to the Sorbonne and they could be near her mother Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and his uncle Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan).

Also coming soon, Holly and Tate are going up to the hospital with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). And Holly denies she’s back on pills. Looks like some were found on her. And she is screams at Tate to get out. So maybe they break up. Holly goes to Paris. So Tate heads out west to be with his mother, Teresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien).

Days of Our Lives: Lexie’s Six Month Return and Other Changes

Next comes another exit, actress Nikki Crawford, who plays Lexie Carver. Her effort on Peacock sudser was only a six month long run. So actress Nikki Crawford ended her run months ago and has moved on. And now it’s just a matter of waiting and seeing when and how Lexie gets her Salem exit again.

Her first air date was March 6, so Nikki Crawford’s half-year run should end sometime around the beginning of September. And Lexie is already experiencing symptoms from Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) resurrection serum. You know, it’s not easy to be brought back from the dead after 15 years frozen in a personal capsule.

To me, it all seems like a huge waste of time to bring Lexie back just to kill her off again so quickly. You know, maybe she really doesn’t want to die. But we agree to let Ralph and EJ refreeze her in that tube, you know, at least until they can figure out how to bring her back for good. Or maybe Lexie will refuse and decide she wants to die peacefully.

Days of our Lives: Kristen DiMera Out

And finally, we also get to see Kristen DiMera leave Salem over the summer. Stacy Haiduk’s character seems to have been snapped up by EJ or, you know, more likely a fat on his payroll. When he finds out that Kristen tried to get Sophia to kill Johnny, it’s all over for her. EJ wants to take her out like yesterday’s trash.

Luckily for Stacy Haiduk, she’s moved on to another juicy soap role, appearing as Patty Williams over on Young and restless. She absolutely kills it Y&R, basically playing another crazy bad girl up to something good.

Days of changes and new arrivals

We also expect Al Calderon’s last air date as Javi Hernandez at any time now. Al left when he landed a role on the NBC prime time drama Brilliant mind. But it’s actually bad news for him, as it was canceled all of a sudden. It won’t be another season. Meanwhile, Jacob Martinez has taken over the role of Javi. Things get interesting for him right now when his new boyfriend Gus (Michael Ocampo) moves to Salem after landing a firefighter gig there. We’ll meet the new hottie on June 30.

In other upcoming news, Peter Porte is back as a hottie Dimitri von Leuschner DiMera this summer and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) just told it Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) she gets non-stop hate texts from Dimitri, who taunts her for continuing to spend her money now because it won’t last forever. He wants to gather evidence to take her down. So when he’s back, Leo tries to get Dimitri to make a deal with him after he turns down some kind of offer from Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).

Plus, in early 2027, we’ll see Sofia Mattsson make her Days of our lives debut. She was last seen on General Hospital and now she has a new contract role days. I think you guys will really, really love her. So right now they say she’s playing a brand new character. But I personally suspect that the new character may turn out to be Abigail DiMera, basically with amnesia, who turns out not to be a new character. We’ll see. Sofia Mattsson honestly has the perfect look to be recast as Abigail. But we won’t find out until six months from now.
