Fallout 4: Project Zeta Expansion officially shared by Bethesda

Fallout 4 is undoubtedly a brilliant game, and one that continues to draw players back by the thousands every day, especially thanks to the lack of a sequel in the intervening period. That being said, there are many out there who have fully explored everything that Bethesda gave us in the base game and its expansions, so they now have to look elsewhere for additional content to play.

It’s here Creation Club can come into contact. Bethesda’s paid mod platform is understandably controversial for charging many of the mods it hosts, but there are still some great downloads out there worth considering if you’re happy to part with some coin. One of them in particular has attracted the attention of the developers themselves, and it is a large part of DLC that is approaching the level of an official release. Even better, it’s completely free.

On Twitter/X, Bethesda shared a post highlights Project Zeta, a creation that adds a lot of tangible assets to the base game, as well as new enemy types and a companion to increase your circle of friends. In case you hadn’t realized yet, everything added in the download is inspired by the divisive, goofy fun of Fallout 3’s Mothership Zeta.

In the description of the download, the developer shared the following insights about what players can expect if they decide to give it a try:

“Project Zeta is a small project we made based on Mothership Zeta and Invaders from Beyond. This mod adds a bunch of new workshop builds, 3 new weapons (also 3 unique), 1 new outfit, a new companion, two new enemy types, as well as two new workshops. One workshop is located in the actual Zetan observation ship on Mars, the other is located in a special Zetan observation ship on Mars.

“At its core, this mod is just a workshop pack where you can make your own fun, but we also included some nifty features such as workshop raids, where Zetans and Abominations will invade your workshop in the style of Invaders from Beyond in Fallout 76.”

Going up to a ship or even Mars to live actually seems like a more tempting option than pretty much anywhere in the Commonwealth itself. It’s obviously mostly meant for fun more than anything, but there’s a ton of precedent for aliens in Fallout, so it’s not even as story-breaking as you might expect.

Project Zeta Creation is only available on Xbox, and as mentioned earlier, it doesn’t even cost the player anything. It also helps us add a little more to the experience of Fallout 4 while we wait to hear more about the sequel, which could take a long time.
