The couple tied the knot in late December of 2025, and their day was surrounded by drama as some members of Alex’s family refused to attend the ceremony.
Olympic swimmer Adam, 31, and Gordon’s daughter Holly, 26, didn’t invite some of Adam’s family to their lavish wedding at Bath Abbey – which is said to have left Adam’s mum Caroline feeling as if her heart had been “cut out”.
Gordon has since said that the ban on invitations was Adam and Holly’s decision – and claimed in an interview that he wanted to sort things out with Adam’s family and “draw a line in the sand”. The Michelin star chef, 59, said he and wife Tana, 51, had also welcomed Adam’s family – and even treated them “like royalty”.
Gordon told daily Mail: “It’s just disturbing. It’s all self-inflicted on their part, because we did nothing — none of what you read: no rudeness, no ignorance — we welcomed them. We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So that press pressure was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.”
Asked if he and Tana could ever see the situation resolved, Gordon said: “I’d like to go to Nottingham (where Adam’s family live) with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand. It was Adam and Holly’s wishes not to attend (their wedding) and so we had to respect that. There are some things they have to sort out as parents. With Tana and me It has nothing to do with it. But we are very conscious that we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue to start their lives together.”
