Rulla Pontarelli responded to a video of her husband, Brian PontarelliAnd his mistressreportedly Beth Walkerafter Sunday’s episode by The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
If Rosie DiMare35, admitted she felt ‘uncomfortable’ bringing the video to her, Alicia Carmody41, explained why she didn’t show it to her, and Jo-Ellen TiberiRulla, 38, suspected Rulla would suggest it was “rigged,” Rulla, 46, shaded Brian, 49,’s clip as “bullsh*t,” and Jo-Ellen responded to not being invited to her and Brian’s Arabian Nights themed party.
“It’s all nonsense to me,” Rulla said on the June 7 episode of the series RHORI: After the show. “Can we just not talk about this stupid thing? It was a good way to kill a vibe.”
According to Rosie, she didn’t want to bring it up, but she felt pressure from Alicia to do so.
“I felt very uncomfortable about it, but what happened in the mansion was really disturbing to me. It obviously looks real. There’s clearly a date on it. There was nothing like super promiscuous going on. So it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my god, we caught them red-handed.’ I’m like, ‘Why am I seeing this?’ It was just like, ‘This seems like a set-up,’” she explained.
Although Rosie felt that someone closer to Rulla should have brought the video to her, she felt a moral obligation to do so after Alicia told her she didn’t think she could do it.
“(Alicia) was like, ‘Can you do it?’” she recalled. “(And) I would rather (Rulla) shoot the messenger and be angry with me for telling (her) than have (her) not know about it.”
Meanwhile, in her own segment, Alicia said she just didn’t want to do it at Rulla’s party.
“I said, ‘No, no. I’m not doing it at her party. I’m doing it the next day because Rulla just got out of the hospital,'” she reasoned.
Alicia then claimed that Rosie wanted to tell Rulla herself.
“Rosie took it and said, ‘Give it to me!’ Rosie said, “I know you can’t do it. I’m going to do it.’ I was like, “Oh,” she claimed.
As for Jo-Ellen, she felt that it should have been Alicia who told her, and she suspected that Rulla would not believe the content of the video.
“She’s going to say it’s doctored,” she surmised, while Alicia said Rulla would likely feel like not acknowledging the video was her way of “protecting her family.”
Elsewhere, Liz McGraw55, said Rulla had the opportunity to put an end to speculation about this Brian’s romance early on with another woman, but that didn’t work out.
“I feel like if Rulla just came into the summer and said, ‘Maybe I do, maybe I don’t, maybe I know, maybe I don’t, but it’s none of your damn business, and I’ll handle it on my own terms,’ then she would have shut it down right then and there,” she explained.
During another part of the RHORI: After the showJo-Ellen noted that she was not on the guest list for Rulla and Brian’s event.
“I don’t think I was left out. I had a wedding,” she explained. “(Rulla) knew I wasn’t there that weekend, so she didn’t bother inviting me… I would say she would have felt extremely awkward inviting me, but there’s a chance she would have invited me even if I hadn’t had the wedding, and you know what I would have done? Been cordial… I wouldn’t have caused a scene there.”
Although Rulla confirmed she didn’t want another “sh*t show” party like the cast’s Studio 54-themed party, she insisted her party was a hit.
“I’m hosting. We’re having a blast. We’re here together, Brian, me and everyone else,” she declared.
But Liz and Kelsey Swanson32, disagreed, with Liz saying, “There was something missing energetically,” and Kelsey suggesting it was one big front.
“She wanted to paint a picture of her and Brian’s relationship: everything was nice and everything was status quo and ‘we’re good here and we can have fun and watch us.’ And it still felt stale. It was like we felt shady when we were there…we knew too much,” she shared.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
