Toosii is no longer a member of the college football program LSU. The viral TikTok rapper left the team after less than three months.
His career is over before it even started!
Coach Lane Kiffin had nothing but kind words for the 26-year-old. He claims that the short period is in college football wasn’t a PR stunt.
Who is Nau’Jour Grainger?
Nau’Jour Lazier Grainger is better known by his stage name Toosii. The New York native began his music career in 2017. He rose to fame with the release of his hit single “Favorite Song” in 2020. It peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a double platinum certification after first going viral on social media. It has been streamed over 250 million times on Spotify and viewed over 350 million times on YouTube.
Toosii has more than four million followers on both Instagram And TikTok. He is extremely viral.
Although Granger was born and raised in Syracuse, his family later moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. He began recording music under the name Toosii at the age of 16 while playing high school football. He played slotback and wide receiver at Rolesville.
Granger was a lot of fun to watch on the field and the Rams got him the ball as often as possible. However, his size didn’t show up as a Division I college football player. And he probably wasn’t good enough to go to FBS anyway. It wouldn’t happen.
It clearly worked. Toosii has an estimated net worth of $1.5-3 million. He’s doing fine.
Granger decided to take a break from his music career at the age of 25 to pursue college football. He made a number of high-profile recruiting visits to schools like USC, Maryland and Duke, but Syracuse ultimately received its commitment on the first day of December.
Toosii was all ready to register for the spring semester. He started working as a wide receiver for the Dutch team and even got his own locker.
At the end of January everything fell apart. Syracuse head coach Fran Brown added many more players through the transfer portal than he expected, so Grainger was left without a scholarship. Toosii “dismantled” from the program. He wouldn’t be a walk-on.
Not long after, Toosii called Brown a ‘bozo’ on TikTok. His account of what happened was different than what the head coach said happened. I’m sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle. It was the same result either way.
Grainger later appeared on the Louisiana State University roster. Toosii practiced with the Tigers this spring.
I have attached a few photos of Nau’Jour Grainger “Toosii”. #LSU practice on Tuesday.

Bayou Bengals legend Tyrann Mathieu questioned the legitimacy of the addition.
Tyrann Mathieu reacts to rapper Toosii joining LSU football 😳👀
“I would start by saying that it’s a beautiful thing to see people chasing their dreams… but in the same breath it might not be. This isn’t Instagram, this isn’t YouTube… this doesn’t seem very real to me.” https://t.co/utuPT5Er0g pic.twitter.com/Rtz1dNv3B5

And now, less than three months later, Lane Kiffin revealed that Toosii is no longer a member of the team. He signed a contract with a gambling company and left LSU to return to music and entertainment.
That’s the end of it! Toosii’s college football career lasted less than six months. He spent a few weeks in Syracuse and practiced at Louisiana State in the spring. Kiffin claims it wasn’t a gimmick.
