Despite the weather threatening to hamper proceedings at the “UFC Freedom 250” fight at the White House, there was no stopping President Donald Trump and other fans of the sport of mixed martial arts.

Even an insulting comment from one of the fighters couldn’t make a dent in the proceedings. Most surprising, however, was the president’s shocking response to the comment.

Former NFL player and heavyweight UFC prospect Josh Hokit emerged victorious via TKO against Derrick Lewis and gave his victory speech as he made the offensive comment.

“Shout out to Trump for having the balls to set this stuff up,” Hokit told Joe Rogan in an interview. Daily beast.

He then acknowledged his “Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” before looking at the camera and saying, “And finally, Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America?’

According to CNNTrump “appeared to give a half-smile” seconds after Hokit’s bizarre comment. Seemingly aware of the incoming backlash, Hokit’s comment was left out of an 8-second clip the UFC shared, with the exception of an insult directed at fellow fighter Alex Pereira’s mother.

The UFC fighter’s comment drew cheers from some of the crowd, while other parts were left stunned. However, the matter is very different online, where many have dismissed the comments while condemning the president for approving such a comment.

“I wouldn’t expect anything less from these low-class, bottom-of-the-barrel, trashy people,” one X user wrote, while another added, “Proves to everyone that Trump has normalized HATE. Where in the UFC was Obama relevant?”

“Imagine being so obsessed with Michelle Obama. She has done nothing to deserve this level of disrespect. Grow up and move on,” another user added.

Someone else said: “Disgusting! Decorum is so lacking in our country. She is a former First Lady of a country I love. Just stop.”

“It’s disgraceful and disgusting, just like his comment, and Trump’s half-smile is no better,” he said TDB said commentator.

Another commented: “This is incredibly despicable. All the racists came out of the walls like cockroaches. With the title Donny it was okay to show everyone’s racism. I’m disgusted!”

Trump has mocked Obama and his wife over the years and even shared an AI video depicting them as monkeys. The former president responded to the racist fragment during a speech interview with YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen says many Americans “find this behavior deeply disturbing.”

“There doesn’t seem to be any shame about this among people who felt like you had to have some kind of decorum and a sense of decency and respect for the office,” Obama said in the interview, which was posted on YouTube at the time.

“There is a kind of clown show that is happening on social media and on television,” Obama added, describing much of the noise surrounding Trump’s presidency as a “distraction.”

However, the White House later blamed an aide for “incorrectly” posting the video before it was removed.

A lawsuit aimed at stopping the UFC fight

Meanwhile, Hokit’s comments were not the only political criticism raised at the event.

When former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley faced Canada’s Aiemann Zahabi, the crowd got very patriotic as chants of “USA!” echoed throughout the venue.

Onlookers could be heard shouting, “Canada is the 51st state!” referring to Trump’s repeated taunts about annexing his northern neighbors.

However, the battle may never have happened, as just days before the event a judge ruled against an emergency injunction against the battle on behalf of two Virginians, a Vietnam veteran and a local civil activist.

The suit, filed by Public Integrity Project, requested cancellation of the event, citing a lack of approval and Trump’s personal and financial ties to Dana White and the UFC.

Why a judge denied the lawsuit against Trump’s UFC fight on his birthday

Judge Amit P. Mehta reportedly dismissed the challenge, saying the plaintiff has failed to establish that he would suffer any harm if the event were to proceed, the law said. BBC.

The judge shared that the fight had been public knowledge for more than a year, but the fact that prosecutors only decided to file charges earlier this month raises concerns about their motive.

He also added that the recent lawsuit “undermines their claims of irreparable harm,” and that the makeshift iron structure built to host the event “makes the risk of significant environmental damage questionable.”
