American Idol Season 24 winner Hannah Harper has been very busy since being crowned the show’s champion in May 2026. Hannah, a 26-year-old stay-at-home mom of three little boys from Willow Springs, Missouri, became the front-runner to win the competition at her audition when she sang her original song, “String Postpartum Depression,” about her experience with depression. The audition went viral, garnering over 120 million views, and Hannah was on her way to becoming the first female country musician to win American Idol since Season 4’s Carrie Underwood in 2005.

“String Cheese” brought Carrie to tears and resonated with fans because it was such a beautiful and relatable song, with an honesty that really spoke to people. All the way through American Idol season 24, Hannah also wowed the judges – Carrie, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan – and the audience with her sensational renditions of iconic songs. She stated that it wasn’t just the stage that made the day so special, but the people, including her friends and family, who made the moment feel more like a party than a performance.

Hannah said standing in the Circle on the Grand Ole Opry stage with her brothers was something she’ll never forget. She also acknowledged that the performance started String Cheese Tourand that watching her husband and boys embrace this newest season in her life had been one of the greatest gifts. She wrote that what started as her dream has become a family mission. She also said that she didn’t get there alone and that so many people prayed for, encouraged and believed in her and her family long before any of it seemed possible. Hannah ended her post by expressing her gratitude to the Lord.

During CMA Fest 2026, Hannah performed in the 19 Recordings Takeover concert at 6th & Peabody with several others American Idol alumni from her season and previous seasons. They included American Idol season 24 runner-up finalists Jordan McCullough, Keyla Richardson, Chris Tungseth, Braden Rumfelt, Brooks, Lucas Leon, Rae, Philmon Lee, Jake Thistle, Julián Kalel, Genevieve Hayward and Kutter Bradley. Additionally, Mattie Pruitt (season 23), Will Moseley (season 22 runner-up) and Colin Stough (season 21) appeared alongside country music superstar Billy Ray Cyrus.

Hannah Harper’s String Cheese Tour has begun

Hannah has started traveling around the US on her String Cheese Tournamed after the song that started it all. In a Facebook post, Hannah shared her String Cheese Tour dates, which include stops in several major cities this summer and fall. The tour kicked off on June 2nd in Nashville, Tennessee at the Grand Ole Opry and will conclude on November 14th at the Bartlett Performing Arts & Conference Center in Bartlett, Tennessee. During the tour, Hannah will also perform in her hometown of Willow Springs, Missouri, along with Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina and South Carolina. On September 30, Hannah will perform at Dollywood in Tennessee.

In the caption of her Facebook post, Hannah encouraged fans to check the dates to see if she was headed to a city near them. She concluded by saying that she and her band can’t wait to see everyone on the road this year.

Hannah Harper is on tour with American Idol Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina

In addition to Hannah’s solo tour, she opens for American Idol season 10 runner up and country music superstar Lauren Alaina on some of her Stages tour dates. She is one of three opening acts for the tour, which also includes Shane Profitt and Ashley Kutcher. Hannah will perform on six of Lauren’s tour dates, including October 15 in Springfield, Missouri; October 16 in Little Rock, Arkansas; October 17 in Columbia, Missouri; October 22 in Lexington, Kentucky; October 23 in Cleveland, Ohio; and November 12 in Nashville, Tennessee.

In a Facebook post, Hannah gushed that she was so excited to be with Lauren on the road. She wrote, “Two mums, a bunch of babies and a whole lot of miles ahead.” Hannah alluded to the fact that she and Lauren not only have country music in common, but they’re also both moms. Hannah is a mother to three little boys, while Lauren gave birth to her daughter, Beni Doll Arnold, on June 11, 2025.

After American IdolHannah has plans to write new music, including a song dedicated to her husband, Devon Mendenhall, which she has been working on for a long time. In an interview with ParadeHannah admitted that she had a hard time finishing the song because she feels like words aren’t enough to express how she feels about him. She shared that she has six verses, different melodies, and none of them have been finished, but she hopes that she can finish it now that they are finished with American Idolwhich put them to the test. Hannah explained, “I feel like I can’t even begin to scratch the surface of a love song that is ours.”

Hannah also plans to write some songs about her American Idol experience, as well “many more Mama songs.” But since her whirlwind experience, she simply hasn’t had time to focus on writing. However, Hannah hopes to write more music soon, and if it’s anything like the original music she’s already shared with the world, these songs are sure to be big hits for her.

Hannah has been very busy since her American Idol win, and it’s surely just the beginning of a long music career for her. During her time in the competition, she showed that she has spectacular vocals and star quality. She proved she could hold her own during duets with country music legends Kellie Pickler, who sang “A Broken Wing,” and Lee Ann Womack, who performed “I Hope You Dance.” Her original songs have already captured the hearts of her many fans. Hannah is the brightest new star in American Idol galaxy and she is sure to have a long and successful music career.
