Steve Burton is accusing ex-wife Sheree Gustin of interfering with his relationship with their youngest daughter in a new lawsuit, reigniting tensions years after their headline-making split. According to new reports, the “General Hospital” actor claims Gustin has engaged in “blatant parental alienation” and has “systematically” undermined his relationship with their 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.
Steve Burton claims that Gustin has repeatedly created obstacles around his court-ordered parenting time and made co-parenting increasingly difficult after his move from California to Tennessee.

In the filing obtained by Daily Mail, Burton claims Gustin has put “unnecessary obstacles” in the way of his custody and has “repeatedly refused” to let his wife, Michelle Lundstrom, pick up Brooklyn on his behalf.
He further claims that Gustin refuses to “acknowledge Michelle’s role as my wife or Michelle’s daughters as Brooklyn’s stepsisters”, despite Burton insisting that Brooklyn has developed a “close relationship” with them.
Burton and Gustin, who finalized their divorce in 2023 after 23 years of marriage, also share daughter Makena, who is 22, and son Jack, who is 20.
Lundstrom, whom Burton married earlier this year, is a lifestyle and food influencer who also appeared on season two of Netflix’s “Barbecue Showdown” in 2023. She shares daughters Lilah, 15, and Hannah, 11, from a previous relationship.
Burton says Tennessee Move has complicated custody arrangements

Burton also claims that Gustin has refused to cooperate in arranging visits for Brooklyn to travel to Tennessee after he moved from California. Gustin, however, strongly disputes Burton’s accusations.
In her response, she reportedly denied allegations of parental alienation, arguing that the former couple had already established a custody plan through previous legal proceedings. While acknowledging the importance of Brooklyn maintaining a relationship with her father, Gustin reportedly claimed that she doesn’t want their daughter to “spend half her life traveling.”
According to the filing, Gustin believes Brooklyn should not be away from home for more than three weeks at a time. She also claimed that Burton made the decision to move out of state and if he wants additional time beyond their agreed upon deal, he can travel to California to see Brooklyn.
Steve Burton has previously accused Sheree Gustin of interference

The custody dispute marks the latest chapter in the ongoing tensions between the former couple. In a May 2025 filing, Gustin reportedly accused Burton of “harassing” her through what she described as excessive communication regarding custody arrangements for Brooklyn. This filing came just weeks after Burton married Lundstrom.
Previously, Burton had also accused Gustin of interfering with his time with Brooklyn, echoing claims that now appear in his latest legal filing.
“Sheree seems to have forgotten how our family ended up in this situation. It was Sheree who had an extramarital affair, got pregnant with another man’s child and immediately moved him into her home after our separation, without informing me that she would do so,” Burton stated in previous court documents.
Burton claims that ex-wife created tension about remarriage

He also claimed that tensions surrounding his relationship with Lundstrom became an issue early on. “Early in my relationship with Michelle, Sheree began refusing to call Michelle by her name and instead referred to her as ‘the girl’ in an attempt to downplay her role in my life,” Burton alleged.
In a text exchange included in previous filings, Burton claimed Gustin wrote, “Michelle is not your family or our kids family lol. She is your girlfriend.” According to Burton, Gustin also made it difficult for Brooklyn to spend time with him when Lundstrom or her daughters were around.
“Sheree made it clear to me that she did not want Brooklyn to spend time with me if Michelle or her daughters were around,” he claimed. “Whenever Michelle and her daughters were in town, Sheree would make it difficult for me to exercise custody with Brooklyn when I was in California. All my requests were met with resistance. Sheree would tell me that my desired time didn’t work or that they were busy, despite me giving her ample notice.”
Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin’s split made headlines

Burton and Gustin’s divorce became public in 2022 after the actor revealed that Gustin was pregnant with another man’s child. The former couple officially finalized their divorce in 2023 after more than two decades of marriage.
Gustin now shares daughters Izabella, 3, and Addy, 2, with Jason Amador, while Burton continues to balance family life with his acting career.
The actor is best known for portraying Jason Morgan on “General Hospital,” a role he’s played on and off since 1991, most recently returning to the long-running soap in 2024.
